Since 1947, Living Springs Bible Camp (formerly Central Alberta Youth Fellowship) has been offering a variety of camps at our current property on Red Deer Lake, most of which have been primarily serving the needs of youth and families.
While this format has been working well for the past 60 years, over the past year and a half, the Lord has been revealing to us an additional group of individuals to whom we can minister from within our camping program: those aged 50 years and up who don’t necessarily feel that they “fit” into any of the existing camping programs, but who still love camp, and who would be interested in attending a camp designed just for them. Over the past few months, a number of prospective campers have been asked to comment on the need for a camp such as this, and the response came back overwhelmingly positive.
Since there was such a positive response for this camp, LSBC is moving ahead with adding a new camp to our 2007 summer camping program. Currently being named the “Heritage Builders” Camp, this camp will be filled with games & activities that prospective campers told us they would be interested in doing: trivia contests, canoeing, singing, nature walks, golf, board games, campfires, and lots of times to grow spiritually, to meet new friends, and to relax & enjoy each other’s company.
We hope that prospective campers will see such promise in this new camp that they will also encourage their friends – even their non-Christian friends – to consider attending this camp as well.
If you are interested in attending the “Heritage Builders” Camp, please click on the link below or contact the local LSBC camp rep at your church for registration forms. We are very excited for the possibilities of this camp, and we hope to see a large number of familiar faces as campers this summer.
